Cellcrypt, another UK-based security firm (with offices in California) announced the release of a Blackberry version of its renowned end to end voice encryption solution.
The service allows users to convert their Blackberrys into highly sofisticated security devices by employing the so-called Encrypted Mobile Content Protocol (EMCP) to completely encrypt and protect voice communication.
The beauty of their solution is that you don’t have to buy some heavily overpriced hardware. All you need to do is to simply install an application on your existing device and subscribe to their encryption back end. Then, once you are set up, you can use the software to establish encrypted phone calls over regular cell phone waves.
While Cellcrypt has not mentioned anything about pricing yet, it can safely be assumed that this is a solution primarily targeted to companies that place high value on security.
It’ll take a few more years until solutions like these are available for the consumer channel. In the mean time, this is great for companies who want to ensure complete privacy for their employee’s communication while they are not ready to compromise on the comfort of simply calling someone.
