PGP (www.pgp.com) has announced the release of a new simplified and cheaper version of its Full Disk Encryption solution. The new tool will be targeted to 10-100 users and address some of the main critique the company has received for its corporate solution.
The market leader for corporate encryption software is known for the complexity and high cost of its programs. Until now, PGP was therefore limited to big budget corporations or computer experts willing to invest a lot of time into getting acquainted with the many complex functions of the software.
The release of a more user-friendly version of their solutions is great news for the small business community and a big change in PGP’s strategy.
While Whole Disk Encryption has other limitations compared to the alternative of File Based Encryption, we are happy to hear that one of the most important players is stepping forward to facilitate the usage of its encryption solution, making it accessible to a broader range of customers.
